Statisical Data
The following are examples of the data's
format after uncompression. The data is in a text file, with
fixed length fields. Please note that all data fields consist of
9 or 18 characters. The last character in each data field
contains a bibliographic reference or is blank. It is never
coded as a number, and your analysis program should take into
account the position of this column.
Some fields must be combined with others in order to make a
complete value.
For example,
If field A has the value bbbbbbb1x (where b
means blank and x could be any number or character which is not
to be part of the calculation) and field B has the value
30000000B (where B means bibliographic tag which is not to be
part of the calculation) then the correct combination would yield
bbbbbbb1x30000000B which is 130,000,000.
The following fields may contain the character '<' in the bibliographic column; this means that that particular number is unscaled: Examples: Area in Square Kilometers, Area in Square Miles, etc ...
